The bride and groom chose a fall wedding date. Their cake was frosted in mint-green buttercream icing, and had a brown ribbon at the bottom of each layer. There were piles of fondant leaves on each level They hand-crafted their wooden wedding monogram cake-topper.
This fall-themed three-tier square cake was adorned by hand-crafted floral arrangements done by the bride herself! This wonder-woman, Christina Zimmerman-Smith, has her own wedding event planner business, and she designed her entire wedding reception. This cake served 232 people.
A friend of this wedding couple designed a tree to put on their invitations. The couple wanted to carry this image over to their wedding cake. This five tier cake has the tree image cut out of fondant wrapped around their cake. Each leaf was formed out of fondant and contains veins.
I was born and raised in South Dakota. My Grandmother was the baker for a country club, and shared her recipes with her family. She gave me my first Kitchenaid mixer. My favorite childhood memories were baking with my mother, grandmother and sisters.
When my oldest daughter Sarah became engaged, she asked me if I could make the wedding cake. Having never made a wedding cake before, I thought it would be wise to take a few classes. I did, and made a very detailed cake for her wedding. It's been my hobby ever since then and I get great personal enjoyment making every cake.
I feel very blessed and have a wonderful, loving family.
I have a wonderful husband Pete who has learned how to make a mean frosting! I also have three daughters, all of which are married. Sarah (Justin), Melanie (Yochai) and Stephanie (Derc).
I have been blessed with one beautiful grandson Jordan, and have another grandchild on the way.
I thank God every day for the opportunities He has provided me with and hope to give a little happiness to all those around me.
